The topic that we discuss in Media and Information Literacy, is all about Information Literacy. It is the ability to recognize when information's needed and to locate, evaluate, effectively use and communicate information in its various formats. Moreover, there are types of Information, and that is scholarly, professional/trade, Entertainment/popular, and Opinion. scholarly is a type of information that drawn from the research of field expert, then Professional/Trade is a type of Information consist of current events that to be reviewed by experts but if the writer is a professional then theirs no need to review by an expert of the field, another thing is Entertainment/popular is a type of information that are meant for general publication, and to catch the peoples attention, and lastly is Opinion,is a type of information or statement which is not conclusive.

We also discuss about who are the providers of information, namely academic institution, government agency, private sectors, and private individuals. They are the one provides information to the public, the academic institutions are the integrated schools that studies and research about a specific topic to provide information, another thing is government agency, they are the one who gives information without profits, they serve the public freely, next one is private sectors who;s not operated by the Government, they give information's to improve their products, private sectors is mainly a business institutions and lastly private individuals, who are the people, they are one of the providers of information, and the people should be motivated to tell the truth.\

For the next part, we discussed the sources of information, all in all their are three sources of information and that is primary sources, secondary sources and tertiary sources. The primary sources are what we call the first hand accounts, for example theses/dissertations, interviews, diaries/journal, speeches, interviews, letter, photographs, and original works of art and literature. Furthermore,  the secondary sources of information is mainly from critical reviews, text book, biography and etc. Which is an information that you can use for your related literature. And lastly tertiary sources is a source of information that refers to primary and secondary sources, moreover it gives an over view if a topic, like tables, dictionaries, encyclopedia, handouts and etc.

Our discussion lead to the question how do you evaluate information?. The ways to evaluate information is to have attribution and also data triangulation, when we talked about what is attribution, it is the identification of the sources for the same information, and to answer what is data triangulation, it is a process of finding two or more sources for the same information. There are commonly questions for evaluating an information and that is, Are the sources is academic, scholarly, or reputable? How many different quality sources are saying the same thing? Are the facts verifiable? And a lot more questions to correctly evaluate a certain information.

The discussion lead to the common codes in journalism when gathering information, and that is, on the record, in the background, deep background and off the record. On the record, is the process of identifying the identity of the sources. On the background is the background of the sources of the information. Next part is Deep background, is the source cannot be identified. Lastly, off the record are the sources that cannot be put in the study.

After that discussion we go to another topic which entitled Elements of information literacy, this are the Elements that evaluates that you are an information literate. The first element is information need, first you will need to have a topic to know what information you want to seek in any sources, next element is sources of information, where will you get your the information, that should be taken in credible sources. The third element is access to information, where will you access the information, another element is evaluate information, where, you check the quality of the information, next element is organized information, that means how will you organize the information you gathered, and the last element is communicate the information's, this is how you create and communicate to the information you get from different sources.

The next topic of our discussion is, The terms to consider when gathering an information, and that are plagiarism, common knowledge, interpretation, quotations, and paraphrase, that are the one people should be aware of, like when getting  an information people should not plagiarized of others work, or simply say people should not copy others work, another is the common knowledge, people should use common knowledge to avoid misunderstandings to anyone, they should use a widely known information, next to consider is interpretation, the opinions/ideas that makes fact, should have references, another consideration is quotations, using someones word should be credited or references and lastly to consider is paraphrase, in getting other works you need to paraphrase and analyze their words, do not just copy and paste their works because it would fall to plagiarism. The discussion is goes to, what is knowledge acquisition and knowledge generation. Knowledge acquisition, the information that gathers from different sources of information. Knowledge generation, is produce another information out of those different information's gathered from the other studies.

And the last topic we discuss is the six vital concepts of information literacy, namely information has value, where its main focus is to educate people, next is searching as strategic explanation, is a concept that you should be flexible in looking information, for the next part is scholarly as conversation, it is exchanging of information, sharing, contributing info's and etc. It is an endless cycle of conversation, another concept is research as inquiry, it is a form a research that also an inquiry for the people, next concept is, authority is constructed and contextual, everything in the world of information has an authorities to good construct and context and and for the last part is information creation is a process, all the things in this world works cause there is a process, in creating an information there are lots of process to do to make an information in good quality, reliable and valid. In the very last part of our lesson, we have given a task to answer what is written questions on the board that relates to our topic that we discuss for that day and after we all answer it, we send it to our teachers google drive.
